I really need to go into marketing!

While out running errands today I heard an ad on the local radio station that they would be doing a call in give away for those parents that need an adult night out. What a great idea, with a 6 month old I know that the hubby and I need to spend more quality time together alone, but I think I am gonna have to pass on this call in. The deal, dinner for 2 at some local restaurant (I'm not familiar with that restaurant but it wasn't McDonalds or IHOP so it must have some allure to it) and 2 tickets to see a movie. Sounds great right? Well it was until it got to the movie part, the tickets are for Madagascar 3.

Hellooooooooooo, that is a kids movie. Oh sure I'm guessing there are adult innuendos or jokes in there but what about tickets to Ted, The Amazing Spider-Man, Magic Mike, (pause for drooling) Savages, People Like Us, or even Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter? Sure the commercials for Madagascar 3 look funny (Afro Circus, Afro Circus) but if you are going to advertise for a "date night" how about picking an adult movie?

Oh and while watching dumb TV today I saw an ad for Brett Michaels Rock 'N Pet stuff being sold at Petsmart. I had to check it out and some things are cute like this:

I need to change my career and go into marketing!

For Sale!

One sister for sale!
One sister for sale!
One crying and spying young sister for sale!
I’m really not kidding,
So who’ll start the bidding?
Do I hear the dollar?
A nickel?
A penny?
Oh, isn’t there, isn’t there, isn’t there any
One kid that will buy this old sister for sale,
This crying and spying young sister for sale?

-Shel Silverstein

Happy birthday to the most bestest sister (and aunt) in the whole wide world, even though she tried to sell me many years ago.

Celebrity Free Pass

This morning on my way into work (sigh) I was listening to a local radio station sound bite from Friday where they were discussing if couples had a "get out of jail free pass" with a celebrity. The question posed was "who was the celebrity free pass and would your spouse/partner really allow you or would the locks be changed at home when you came back the next day?". I found it interesting that the sound bite was of men calling in and I was equally surprised at some of the names they provided. So it got me to thinking about my free pass. My husband and I have had this conversation before about and yes we have our answers and are well aware of who our celebrity competition are.

Him: Halle Barry

Me: Hugh Jackman

The real question in my mind is, would you really be ok with it if that celebrity came up to your spouse/partner for a one night stand and would you really be ok with it or would you change the locks over night? My husband is a wonderful man who I am sure doesn't have a jealous bone in his body, as for me, that is a whole other story. I love my sweetie but I would probably want to beat the living crap out of Halle if it really did come true. She is after all a beautiful and sexy woman so I can tell you know that my eyes would turn from brown to green in no time at all. I don't care how  much money she has, I think I can probably take her, if not I can sit on her (what she is skinny) and my girlz can help me shave her head or something like that (knowing my luck she'd look great the whole time and TMZ would have a field day with my pictures).

Still it is nice to dream sometimes right (about Hugh - not shaving Halle)? Kinda like when the lottery gets up in the millions and you buy one ticket and start planning what your going to buy with that money and how creatively your gonna tell you job to stuff it. Right?

So back to the question at hand, who is your celebrity cheat?

Random thoughts about . . . pizza

Pizza, yummy melty cheese on bread, with sauce and pepperoni. Hungry yet? We had pizza the other night and I knew that it needed to cool down or else I would end up burning the roof of my mouth so I was very careful. Well the next day I discovered I wasn't that careful. I discovered it while brushing my teeth. Not a fun way to discover that you did in fact burn the roof of your mouth. So you know the next time I have pizza I will be thinking of that wonderful experience.
